Introduction

The FX8031 Microcontroller Development Kit is designed to shorten the time-to-market for any hardware and/or firmware designers who use 8031-based microcontroller. Apart from that, it can be used for teaching of 8031-based microcontroller. It can be linked to PC via serial cable (RS232) for programming, read back, verification and securing the target controller. Moreover, code can be assembled in an integrated development environment before being downloaded to target flash memory.

In learning 8031-system, a number of tutorials, which are found in later chapter, can be carried out for learning purpose.

In development of any 8031-system, the kit is ideal for projects from simple running lights to sophisticated real time control system such as fuzzy logic motor speed control.

The control program can be stored in the FLASH memory of the microcontroller (single chip mode) or in EPROM (external access mode). The development time can be shortened if codes are assembled and downloaded from PC into FLASH memory without removing the microcontroller.
