The Flight-68K System complete with a sturdy book style case, serial and parallel I/O, full 68000 bus available, comprehensive and enhanced firmware, no less than five manuals, a power supply and cross assembler.
The FLIGHT-68K will accept standard Motorola 'S'-Format files, either form an intelligent terminal, or from a host system linked to the second serial port. In the latter mode the 'transparent' facility may be used to 'talk through' the FLIGHT-68K when developing programs, avoiding the need to make and re-make connections from terminal to host.
Used in this way the FLIGHT-68K becomes a powerful target system for code generated using Cross Assembler or High Level Languages on any development system.
The Flight-68K includes 68681 Dual UART and 68230 Parallel Interface/Timer enabling you to learn about the 68K family peripherals and to apply the FLIGHT-68K to real control applications. The 40 way I/O connector links to our Switch/Lamp Unit, 4mm I/O Module, or to our Application Board which provides a wide range of ready built control applications plus a complete 'Self-Teach' manual
A major new addition to our ever popular FLIGHT-68K is an on board fault switch enabling fault finding to be easily taught at no extra cost.
The FLIGHT-68K is delivered with sufficient 16K RAM for normal teaching requirements. However, the improved version is expandable to 512Kb RAM, four times the previous system. With the new FLIGHT-68K now having all the 68000 bus available via the 64 way connector the FLIGHT-68K can now be used as a basic 16 bit teaching tool or upgraded to form the heart of a powerful computer system.
