Microprocessors

There are three most representative Microprocessors on the international market:

  1. The Microprocessor Z80 from Zilog
  2. The Microprocessor 68000 from Motorola
  3. The Microcontroller 8051 from Intel

  • Microprocessor Z80: This is a microprocessor of 8 bits that facilitates the study of the most advanced microprocessors. the z80 possesses a wide field of 158 instructions, two record banks, a power supply of only 5V, dynamic memories and three kinds of unmaskable switches
  • Microprocessor 68000: This is a microprocessor of 16 bits, adequate for high level language implementation, with a great flexibility for making multiprocessing systems, capacity for multiarea, etc. I has a direction capacity of up to 16 Megabytes through its 24 direction lines
  • Microcontroller 8051: This is a member of the family of 8 bits MCS-51. It has the capacity to carry out bit logic operations, as well as directional memory for programs and data of 64K each. It is an ideal micro for applications of control, as it includes on integrated circuit: the CPU, RAM and ROM memories, INPUT/OUTPUT gates, temporizers, counters and A/D converters.

General Description

The MICROS equipment is designed for independent use, with an external power supply, or with a common BASE UNIT for all of them, from which they receive the necessary power supply for practices.

The MICROS equipment consists of :

  • A module for the study of the corresponding microprocessor , containing a board with the corresponding CPU, with peripherals, memory and necessary devices for the study, each one having printed on the plan showing their respective blocks graph. The principal characteristic of these modules is that they offer the user complete control from the PC. The hardware has been designed so as to give the user the sensation of controlling the operation of the equipment at all times. The communication between the PC Modules is accomplished by Series through the RS-232 with the PC.
  • Specific Control Software of each microprocessor : User-friendly, multiwindow environment, that includes:
    • Control of the Memory
    • Control of devices
    • Program editor
    • Assembler and mounter (ENS/LINK)
    • Debugger
    • Windows Control
    • Control of the CPU
