The MG-400 creates a platform upon which the student can study the behavior and performance of a number of AC and DC machines.
A self contained, fully integrated system, the MG 400 needs only to be bench-mounted and connected to a three-phase supply.
An optional motor stand is available as shown.
12 major experiments are possible where the student can perform measurement or calculation of speed, torque, voltage, driving current, efficiency and power factor:
Motor |
Motor Load |
3ph Squirrel cage |
Eddy current brake |
| 3ph slip ring |
Eddy current brake |
| Single phase capacitor start |
Eddy current brake |
| Single phase capacitor run |
Eddy current brake |
| Universal motor |
Eddy current brake |
| DC Shunt |
Eddy current brake |

To make the correct connections for the various combinations, the student has merely to position the appropriate mimic panel over a jack field matrix on the front of the console.
